Bluesound Wireless Audio Receivers & Adapters NODE ICON Editorial Review
**Editorial Review** The Bluesound Node ICON Reference Multi-Room High Resolution Wireless Music Streamer has entered the market as an impressive upgrade for audiophiles seeking high-quality digital music playback without the exorbitant price tag often associated with such equipment. Reviews from early users highlight the device's ability to produce superior sound, drawing particular praise for its analog and digital output capabilities. The audio performance is frequently described as having depth, warmth, and clarity, providing a noticeable improvement over older models, such as the OPPO BDP-93 and even previous Bluesound Node devices. However, the initial setup process poses significant challenges; many users reported frustrations with the bluOS app, which was characterized as glitchy. Fortunately, many managed to resolve issues through simple fixes like restarting their phones. Despite these hurdles, the culmination of features—such as the versatility of the unit to play WAV files, stream from services like Pandora, and connect seamlessly to various home audio setups—has led to general satisfaction among users. The NODE ICON also stands out for its unique architecture: it can simultaneously feed audio signals to all outputs other than USB, making it an efficient choice for those with complex audio systems. Users also laud the built-in DAC, which rivals external DACs in performance, allowing for a more streamlined setup. Additionally, while the app interface could use future enhancements, the overall functionality has received approval. Despite minor issues during setup and an invitation for improvements in the bluOS app, the Bluesound Node ICON is heralded as a worthy investment, offering superior sound quality and multi-directional usability that caters to both casual listeners and serious audio enthusiasts alike. **
