INXS Format: Audio CD Rock Editorial Review
**** "Full Moon, Dirty Hearts," the last of INXS's major albums, has received a nostalgic reassessment from longtime fans who once overlooked it. While initially perceived as a bit bland or simply an alternative take on the grunge sound of the '90s, many now recognize the depth and creativity reflected in this work. Fans re-exploring this album have found it a raw and aggressive addition to their collection, reminiscent of the band's earlier success, specifically their acclaimed '80s hits. Listeners have highlighted that the album's tracks maintain a sense of the classic INXS sound that first captivated audiences. The introspective lyricism featured in songs like "Viking Juice" resonates deeply, suggesting personal reflections from late lead singer Michael Hutchence. Despite its commercial struggles—deemed "commercial suicide" upon its release—the album has found a home in the hearts of fans looking to dive deeper into INXS's discography beyond their greatest hits. The collaboration with artists like Ray Charles and Chrissie Hynde adds a layer of intrigue, setting this album apart from other releases of the time. Overall, fans recommend "Full Moon, Dirty Hearts" as an essential listen for anyone wanting to explore the complexities of INXS's musical journey, appreciating it for its uniqueness and the soulful energy evident in each track. **
