The Estwing 3-Inch Wide Flooring Chisel promises a good quality tool for cutting through tough material. It comes with a protective hand grip guard and bumper to save the hand from hitting the handle. However, customer reviews are mixed. Some have reported chipping of the paint on the handle platform which can lead to serious injury as it can fly into the face. Others have complained that the chisel mushroomed and the sharp tip disappeared after the first use. Some have reported that it does cut through tough material such as mortar and concrete blocks while others claim it couldn't even cut through a skinny dowel. It is worth noting that some customers were disappointed that the product is made in India and not in the USA, like its counterpart the Marshalltown, which is only a few dollars more expensive.
