While it is primarily used for TIG welding, it could also be used to steady an electrode while welding. Using the shield really improved free hand TIG welding and made it more uniform. Those who purchased it were able to weld for longer periods of time without getting burned, and can attest to the fact that it does not make fingers too hot even at high amperage. That being said, one review noted that it wore out in just three weeks with light use. Overall, the Weldmonger TIG Finger Heat Shield is a great investment for those who frequently TIG weld.
