- HANDMADE IN GHANA WITH NATURAL MATERIALS – This authentic Wasembe (wah-SEM-bay) shaker musical instrument is handcrafted in Ghana using natural materials. Versions of this instrument exist all throughout Africa, known by different names, including ratatak, telewasa, and wasaumba.
- LOUD, HIGH-PITCHED STRIKING SOUND – This Gourd Slice creates a loud, high-pitched sound when they clack together, produced by quick downward motions that make the slices move along the connector stick, creating a sharp percussive effect.
- SOLID WOOD HANDLE AND CONNECTOR – This hand percussion instrument features a 12" tall solid wood handle and connector, offering both durability and comfort during use.
- VARIATION IN APPEARANCE – As a handmade product, the appearance may vary slightly. It includes about 5 pairs of dried calabash, but may not include the ball rattle on one end.
