The iPet PRO Meter is a blood glucose monitoring system for cats and dogs. It has a different parameter from human's glucometer. There is NOT 2 separate glucode chips. When the glucode chip was inserted into the monitor, the screen displayed a code and an animal icon (cat C01 & dog D01). It displays results from 20-600 mg/dl. One customer reported that their cat was almost killed, as the readings showed between 60-125, indicating they should skip injections. However, the blood sugar level later showed 355 when taken to the vet. Calibration of the unit is necessary. Another customer reported poor accuracy from the unit, and after taking four readings, they noticed a significant difference between them, varying from each other. The iPet Pro is more expensive than other manufacturers for glucose test strips and lancets. The test strips require adequate blood in the clear test strip area for proper results. The lancet was difficult to use with the right depth. Meanwhile, another customer has reported that there is excellent customer service with the company, as they overnighted a new unit for a dog they train.
