Does this kit come with the gauge?
Answer: The 2 I purchased did not come with a gauge. -

What's the average life of one filter? We live in Michigan and have a 500 gallon tank to heat 3000 sqft.
Answer: It depends on the cleanliness of the fuel oil in the tank. If there are microbes in the fuel, it can plug up quickly. An inlet suction vacuum gauge will indicate when the filter element requires replacement. -
Question:
What is its pressure rating? Current 121 psi units seem to leak.
Answer: I am not certain of the maximum pressure rating. However, fuel oil filters like this are typically installed on the suction side of the fuel pump, and properly operate at a slightly negative pressure. -
Question:
Can this be used to filter diesel fuel from a boat fuel tank?
Answer: If I were you I would get a filter designed for a diesel engine. Injection pumps are a lot more sophisticated than the gear pump on an oil burner and a lot more expensive to repair or replace. -
Question:
Is this good for use with kerosene?
Answer: Yes, it should work fine with Kerosene. -

Can this be used on a suntec prv-38p 3/8' oil safety valve head (osv valve) for spin-on oil filters?
Answer: Yes, the in and out are both 3/8's. You may also step the thread up or down according to what you need. This system should work with your (OSV). As with all modifications, check with the specifications of your application. Sincerely J.T.B. Engineering. H.V.A.C. -
